Works Great!! I have two labs which love to bark all night long. I’ve tried the collars, they worked until they got chewed to pieces by the other dog (about a day). I put the Pet Safe Bark Deterrent out side their kennel on a post and set it on the lowest setting. I haven’t heard a peep out of either dog since. Love it!!
Just as the other reviews indicate, this does not work on small dogs. It does, however, work like a charm on big dogs. Thank goodness!!
We had quite a few problems with our dogs barking at all hours of the day and night. We were annoyed by it, so I can only imagine how our neighbors were feeling. We got the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent and another product for indoors. The outdoor product has worked great. The dogs stopped barking right away and have kept it up for a few months now. I would highly recommend this – it even survived being outdoors during extensive rain and hail storms.
The only downside, but well worth it for us, is that it goes through a lot of batteries. My advice would be to stock up on the 9V and plan on changing it every few weeks. We know when it runs out of batteries as one of the dogs will start barking a bit (nothing like before though), so it’s a sure sign. It’s not a permanent fix, but I would keep this on hand to save our sanity and our neighbors. And yes, we’ve tried training and other methods, but her breed is a watchdog so it’s just part of her nature.
It works perfect on the barking dogs on my side of the building. not so effective on puppies.
I bought one of these to deter neighbor dogs barking. They have 3 yappy Chihauhas they bark relentlessly.
Instead of placing in the tree next to their yard, I went to them, explained the situation in a kind manner and offered them this product to help. It was well received and we are still friendly neighbors. Since then, the barking has diminished significantly!
